At the beach, Lily wanted to teach her mom how to build “the best sandcastle.”
When her mom tried, though, she accidentally knocked it down! Lily’s mom never went to the beach as a child.
Lily tried to hide her frustration and instead showed her mom gently how to do it right.
They laughed a lot, especially when Lily respectfully suggested, “Maybe building sandcastles isn’t your thing, Mom!”
But her mom kept trying, and with patience and respect from both, they built a great castle together.
Lily learned that respect makes any activity more fun, even when things go wrong.

At the sunny beach, Ben was struggling to get his kite airborne, each attempt ending with it tumbling down.
Observing his frustration, his mom stepped in, teaching him to run into the wind with the kite and harness the wind.
Ben watched in awe with renewed hope as his kite finally soared high above them.
Overjoyed, he ran to his mom, exclaiming, “Thanks for helping, Mom! I really appreciate it!” His sandy hug made her smile brightly, feeling cherished.
Ben learned a valuable lesson through this simple act: showing appreciation lifts spirits and transforms everyday efforts into meaningful, joyful memories.

Margo was playing by herself when Emmy walked up to Margo. She said, “I don’t have any dolls to play with.”
Margo quickly offered one of her dolls to Emmy. “Thank you, Margo,” said Emmy.
As the day ended, Emmy’s mother arrived to pick her up from daycare. Before leaving, Emmy walked over to Margo, her eyes shining with gratitude. She thanked Margo for the wonderful time they had playing with the dolls.
Margo, her heart full of joy, whispered,
“Giving you my doll to play with allowed me to receive a lot of fun playing with you and the dolls. Thank you, Emmy.”

Malia said, “Mommy, you’re so much fun to work with. I love it when you sing with me.”
Her mom said,
“Malia, do you like music?”
Malia said, “Who doesn’t like music? It makes life more fun.”
Her mom said,
“Here are some words to a song that I wrote just for you:
Malia, you sing like a bird,
Always singing on key,
I think singing will be,
the key to your future.”

It’s not much more than an abandoned lot down the street from where he lives with his mom, dad, and little sister, Savanah.
When Danny's dad comes home, the whole family goes to the lot, where Danny and his dad play catch. Danny wants to be a pitcher and stands on the makeshift pitcher’s mound. His dad stands on first base.
Danny said, “I want to pitch for the Yankees when I grow up.”
His dad said, “Any goal you want to get is worth working for. Danny, your hard work and practice will help you achieve all your dreams.”

The Fun family's pool is more than just a feature. It's a symbol of their open-heartedness and their commitment to fostering a sense of community and fun for everyone, as they generously share it with all their neighbors.
Everyone has fun, but some people don’t want to share, and not everyone has all the toys and equipment that the Fun family has.
When Zadey shared her feelings with her parents, they asked,
“If someone shares with you, wouldn’t you want to open your heart and share too?”
This was a lesson in kindness and community that Zadey would never forget.
