Coach Barber has been worried about LaDon this season. Tomorrow is the big game and the coach feels a bit of advice is warranted.
Coach Barber said, “LaDon, I’ve coached you for several years. You always play a good game. But, every game you play, you always hold back. I’m not sure why but you do. Let me give you some advice.”
The coach said, “My experience is that the great players in football and in life, never hold back. They play with all their heart and strength. If you’re going to make a difference, give whatever you’re doing, 100%”

“Ladies and Gentlemen, I’ve asked for one assistant, and two magically appeared. You can see the power of my abilities.
At that point, LaTika said, “Oh, no you didn’t. I walked up here on my own and so did Earl. I saw him with my own eyes.”
The Magician said, “I tell you what, if the two of you would disappear by the time I count to five, I’ll know that I’m a real magician.”
As he started to count, one, two, (LaTika winked at Earl), O.K. five. He opened his eyes and Earl said,
“Surprise, we’re still here.”

Terrance said, “C’mon, Brandon, you’ll get it back.” Brandon sobbed, saying, “It was broken, the lock was broken, and someone took it.”
Gerald said, “Brandon, it was an old bike you told me you would fix up and then sell it, remember?"
Brandon said, “Do you guys remember when we took our bikes and went fishing? I do. Every time I ride that bike, I think of you guys and the fun we’ve had."
Gerald said,
“Brandon, we’re your pals. We’re right here. We’ll always be here for you. You must remember that friends are more important than any bike.”

“Dad, do you think the Sheriff will let me keep my claim?”
His dad said, “Davey boy, don’t you worry. You found this gold in the mine you dug, fair and square.”
“Yes, but Mr. Jones down in the valley claims everything on this mountain is his," said Davey.
His Dad said, “Did you steal this gold ore?”
Davey said, “No, sir. I dug it out of the mine with my own shovel. It took me almost a week to dig my mine and fill my wheelbarrow.”
His Dad said, “The gold is your reward for all your hard work.”

Jenny is so excited to go to the outdoor market with her Nana. Nana talks about the people, the vendors, and the friends she meets.
“Nana, what does community mean?” asked little Jenny.
Without hesitation, Nana said, “It’s people that come together for a common purpose, like helping one another when needed. The people who live in the community are your neighbors, friends, schoolmates, shopkeepers, and new people you meet on the street.”
“Nana, does a community have a town like ours, asked Jenny.
Nana said, “Yes, it does; our town is OUR community. Here is where we all live.”

Susan and Tom were struggling to save their relationship. After hours of pouring over what they could have, should have, or would have done, they realized that was the problem. Life is not about “What Ifs.”
Susan said,
“Tom, we’re living our lives backward. We’re second-guessing ourselves. If we continue, we’ll second-guess ourselves right out of us.”
Tom said,
“I think we should consider, ponder, pray, and agree on the best possible decision. We’ve asked for help; we know we’ll receive it and make the right decision. We should enjoy the peaceful results and the rest of our lives together.”

Like many boys his age, Rusty is an only child, and his Dad is a single parent. Rusty’s Dad works for a non-profit in many foreign countries, and he gets to travel. He’s decided he wants to learn and make friends.
Today, the head of the tribe asked Rusty to leave. He
explained what he had done to his Dad, but he didn’t understand. He only wanted to make friends.
His Dad
explained,
“Patience is a huge part of learning about people. They don’t usually warm up quickly. Here’s the lesson to remember:
We don’t always get what we want.”
