By CJ Coop

"Come on, just one more point!" shouted Max, gripping his racket. The crowd cheered, excitement buzzing in the air.

Lily, his sister and opponent, smirked, "Not if I can help it!" The shuttlecock flew between them, each hit faster and more intense. Max's heart raced.

Suddenly, the wind changed, pushing the shuttlecock sideways. "Watch out!" yelled their friend Sam—Max dove, stretching every muscle.

The shuttlecock kissed the ground on Lily's side. "Yes!" Max jumped up, victorious.

Lily laughed, "You win this time, but wait for the rematch!" They all laughed, the thrill of the game still sparkling in their eyes.

"Ellie, look at that!" Tim pointed.

Their mum smiled.
"That's the Basilica of the Sacred Heart."

"Why is it so important?" Ellie asked.

"A long time ago, people built it to bring peace," Mum explained. They wandered inside, the towering arches and stained glass telling stories of old.

"Can you feel the history?" Tim whispered, eyes wide. Ellie nodded, sensing the centuries-old tales.

Suddenly, a hidden door creaked open. "What's that?" Tim gasped."An adventure!" Ellie grinned.

They peeked inside, discovering secret passages and forgotten relics. The basilica's history felt alive, their curiosity ignited as they stepped through the door.

WEDNESDAY -  The Arc's Secret

By CJ Coop

“Look, Mum, it’s huge!” exclaimed Tim with an open mouth, pointing at the Arc de Triomphe.

His sister, Ellie, said,
“Did you know it’s almost 200 years old?” Mum nodded, smiling.

“What’s underneath?”
Tim asked, curiosity shining in his eyes.

“A secret tunnel?”
Ellie teased. They both laughed, but Mum's eyes twinkled.

“Actually, there’s a tomb of an unknown soldier,”
she said softly. Tim and Ellie fell silent, imagining the stories untold.

Suddenly, a pigeon landed nearby, breaking the spell.

“Let’s find more secrets!” Tim declared, running ahead. Ellie giggled, following him, their hearts light with the magic of history.

THURSDAY - Dad, That's Big

By DR Rawson

Anna said, “Dad, what is that? It looks huge. And do people look like that where that tower is?

Her dad said,
“Anna, this is an old picture I found in a trunk in the attic that belonged to your great-grandmother. When she was a little girl, she lived in Paris.”

Bobby saw the picture. He asked,
“How about now?”

Mom said,
“You’re going to find out; we’re all going to Paris, France, to see the Olympic games. How about that.”

Everyone was hugging each other, clapping, and having a good time.
“Paris, here come the Cleaet family,” said Dad.

FRIDAY - The Games We Play

By DR Rawson

Suzy excitedly said, “I like to play on the equipment, such as swings and slides. I especially like the rocking horses and playing kickball.”

Their dad said,
“Do you ladies know why you get to play games at recess? It’s because those games teach you to make friends, play and work with others, and it’s fun.”

Anna said,
“Dad, we’re not ladies yet. We’re just kids who like having fun at school with our friends.”

Their Dad grabbed them both, tickled them, and said,
“I’m just a dad who loves to have fun with his girls. I love you both.”

SATURDAY - I know I Can

By DR Rawson

Margaret yelled, “Faster, faster, I know I can, I know I can. Daddy said, ‘I can do anything,’ and I’m going to win.”

She remembered her dad saying,
“Margaret, you can be anything or do anything you want to. Your only limitation is you.” As she raced down the mountain, the upcoming Olympic games loomed large in her mind.

Her Mom's words were a guiding light in her journey.
“Margaret, education, practice, training, attitude, and determination will help you become the person you were meant to be."

Margaret’s parents always told her the absolute truth. She’s excited about her future.

SUNDAY - It Just Broke

By DR Rawson

Lilly broke her grandmother's vase. She first thought she would quietly hide all the broken pieces.

Then, Lilly started crying and went straight to her Mom. She said,
“Mom, I’m so sorry. I was just playing in the house. I know you told me not to, but it’s cold outside. And then, and then, I bumped up against that beautiful multicolored vase that was Grandma’s. That’s when it fell and broke.” Lilly started crying again.

Lilly’s mom knelt down and said
, “You told the truth, and that means more to me than that that old vase ever will.” They Hugged.
